Units are a measurement that combines traditional album sales with streaming and digital download counts.
'Chicken Noodle Soup', released solely as a digital single, was also available for free on SoundCloud, making the achievement of 500,000 units sold even more significant.
The track, released in September 2019, saw J-Hope actively participate in its creation, including writing, composing, choreographing, directing the music video, and selecting costumes, accessories, and cover art.
The song made its way onto several major charts, reaching number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 55 on the Canadian Billboard Hot 100, and number 82 on the UK Official Singles Chart, making simultaneous entries in the U.S., Canada, and the UK.
